The last three haunts I have been to varied in quality and length but had one thing in common...terrified young children that were literally frantic and paralyzed with fear, screaming and crying, being pulled through by callous and unthinking adults. At one (WEBN-THE Haunted House) it was so bad that concerned employees were breaking character trying to get the parents to bring their child out the emergency exit. Hey folks...haunts these days can be very gross and terrifying even for some grownups. DON'T drag your child to one unless they are ready for it. Explain to them beforehand what they might see and that it is all make believe. If they can't deal with it once inside, GET THEM OUT! Children are the most precious thing in the world. Dragging a child through a haunt could give them nightmares for weeks and will also erode their trust in YOU! I love horror and terror, but it's not for everyone and shouldn't be forced on them. Listen to them and act accordingly (and if they're like I was as a kid, bring 'em to every haunt in town!).
